1. When mechanical surfaces are present, bronze runs against aluminum, resulting in extremely smooth and precise movements that will continue for decades.

2. Component weight and dimensions are greatly minimized (without sacrificing performance) giving YOU more control over optimizing the design of your telescopes. A DAR Astro 2 inch focuser is a perfect example of this optimization: It stands only 1.6 inches above the tube when fully racked in, yet provides 2.3 inches of travel and weighs no more than a 2 inch eyepiece!!!!!!

3. Emphasis on " attention to detail " has greatly improved performance and user-friendliness in all of our products. Just look at some of the performance enhancing features present in our mirror cells as an example:

a) Teflon ® mirror support points, and nylon tipped stainless steel side support screws are used to eliminate frictional stresses and thermal effects on the mirror from the cell.

b) Ribbing used in the structure of the cell allowed us to create a strong lightweight open design, greatly reducing the cool-down time of the mirror and the cell.

c) Large collimating t-knobs allow a user to easily and precisely adjust the mirror cell alignment.
